ABOUT
Photography has always been a way for me to preserve little slices of my life. Even as a child I had the feeling that I would never again live this moment, but a picture would keep it in my memory. I started photographing my horses when I was six with a Canon point and shoot. I lived on a commune in Tennessee and my horses were the most important thing in my life at that time, at least as far as I can tell, because I only took pictures of them. I grew up living an alternative lifestyle, which has instilled many values in me that I cherish, has left me with stories I could tell for days and childhood memories that literally look like Sally Mann photographs. But at age fourteen we packed it up and moved to Austin, Texas. I went to The University of Texas and graduated with a major in photojournalism and a minor in live music viewing. I spent a minimum of 3 nights a week at shows. Naturally, I took pictures. My neighbor was Alejandro Escovedo and I did a portrait project on him for a student assignment. After graduating I moved to San Francisco and became a photo assistant, working on everything from celebrity to food, with the occasional auto and fashion shoots.

Four years later moved back to Austin and started a career as a photographer. Since then I have been fortunate enough to find myself shooting all kinds of people, in a vast array of locations. I have shot an Outside Magazine cover (Lance Armstrong), hospital campaigns (first babies and then kids) & Santa in July (Pentagram). I am constantly inspired by music, food, art and life. What does that look like? I am always asking myself that question.
